What if something as simple as choosing your favorite color could remind us how beautifully unique we all are—while also showing us how much we belong?
Today at my boys’ school, it’s Color the World with Kindness Day. Each child wears their favorite color and sits with others who share the same shade at lunch. It’s a fun way to mix things up, create new friendships, and celebrate what makes each of us special.

In our home, colors tell a story:
❤️ Gunnar picked bold red—full of passion and energy.
🧡 Karl chose vibrant orange—radiating warmth and enthusiasm.
🌈 Kerstin, wanting to be just like her big brothers, picked rainbow—because why choose just one?
💙💚 Baby Arvid and I love blue-green—a blend of calm and growth.
🔵 And Pappa? He rocks navy blue—steady, classic, always there.
Each color is different, yet together, they create something even more beautiful.
And isn’t that just like motherhood?
The Power of Showing Up—Even in the Chaos
When I started offering free prenatal yoga classes, I thought I’d be the one giving—sharing something meaningful, reconnecting with this community, and yes, spreading a little love for my book.
But what I didn’t expect was how deeply this experience would give back to me.

There were chaotic moments—like my 5-year-old strumming his guitar in the background or my baby adding his own soundtrack of coos and cries. And yes, I felt that familiar tug of not enough-ness, wondering if I was truly showing up for the women who joined me.
And then it hit me:
💡 Motherhood isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
It’s messy and beautiful.
It's stretching ourselves in every way.
It’s learning to hold space for others while remembering to hold space for ourselves.
One mama shared something after class that left me in tears.

She told me how yoga once felt like home—until grief took that away. When her best friend, a yoga instructor, passed away suddenly, she couldn’t move through a single stretch without overwhelming pain.
For years, she avoided her mat.
But now, pregnant again, she felt ready to take her first tentative steps back. And during savasana, she felt her friend’s presence again. Smiling. Encouraging. Holding space.
And in that moment, she knew she had found her way back.
This is why we show up.
This is why community matters.

And just like my kids striking a pose with peace signs, proudly dressed in their favorite colors, it all starts with a simple choice:
✔ To show up.
✔ To connect.
✔ To embrace what makes us unique—while finding strength in community.
