Lead Trainer: Lanita Ugstad
E-RYT®, RPYT®, Mindfulness Educator,
Reiki Master, Birth/Labor Doula
I was blessed to obtain my 200hr certification through the teachings of Cassandra Wallick/Nischala at Gilbert Yoga in 2012. Since my full immersion into teaching in 2013, I have obtained certifications in Prenatal Yoga, Senior/ Chair (Rewind program) Yoga, practiced as birth educator/doula, ordained as a Reiki Master and most recently expanded my education and certifications into the practice of Mindfulness (Jon Kabat Zinn). Life changing events in 2015 brought me to the depths of my practice and spirituality that I did not yet know existed. In this the lesson of “We can handle anything life may bring to us, if we just breathe”.. No truer words have ever been spoken and they now lead me through life, my practice and all that I teach and share.

I love sharing, learning and community building. I graduated with a B.A. in Human Development and Masters in Public Health to find myself as a data analyst in the healthcare industry. After experiencing the power of yoga during and following my first pregnancy, I started teaching prenatal baby yoga at Desert Birth & Wellness in Joshua Tree. I became certified to teach prenatal yoga under Krissy Shields, founder of Maha Mama and continue to grow my invaluable high desert yoga community. I enjoy hiking, laughing, and spending time my family. I am especially relishing in a newborn as I recently gave birth to my second son February 2019. I am humbled to co-teach with Lanita and organize this retreat for you!

"As a pregnant woman, this experience gave me so much more than just education. It was the wealth of knowledge, the spiritual evoking, the self-discovery, and most importantly, the supportive community. I am so blessed to have met and forged such close bonds with so many amazing yoga instructors from around the country. We all met in Joshua Tree for a reason - to grow not only as individuals, but also as a community."
"I was incredibly nervous investing this money into a completely unknown studio and instructors.
It was the best leap of faith in my yoga journey.
Thank you!
This training and the coordination for all the specialists was phenomenal.
The food was great.
(I liked) all of the content and living with 14 powerful women from all walks of life."

"I never would have thought, a decade ago, that I would finish having my own children and then be so inspired to dedicate my time and energy again to pregnancy and childbirth! ...This prenatal training has given me a greater depth of knowledge and a wealth of resources that I look forward to sharing in Northeastern Pa. I hope to help build communities of women, by women, and for women"
